Constant God - Whatever the thought, the deed, the possibility - there is God, always there, knowing our thought and awaiting our request for His
Once upon a time,
music played in public was sterile. Nothing was heard that hinted of violence, sex, or profanity. Perhaps it was motivated by smart businesses interests of that time ó no need to insult, anger, or demean potential customers.
Itís not for certain whether customers were different back then or whether businesses have just grown not to care about offending customers. But things have changed.
Did the attitude of business persons as displayed in the music broadcast in public spaces serve to change the public? Or did a slow and continuous change in the public result in the change in business attitudes.
But regardless, here we are. We as a people vote our preferences daily, hourly, by the minute and second in the choices we make. Simple choices compounded over time have great impact on what we think and who we are and have become. The selection of television shows or even the choice to watch television which appears to celebrate with daily programing everything in opposition to Jesus Christ, broadcast where our hearts really are.
Perhaps this trend started as merely a way to be different and grow ratings with young, immature audiences in search of the new and different. Those immature audiences eventually grow into Neilsen households shaping the future of television and our views in the process.
We are so accustomed to being programmed by others, although we donít call it that. Our music, the branding on our clothing, our constant connectivity to external forces by wireless phones and the internet. We have been taught to see it all as our empowerment. But it is anything but empowerment.
We have developed a dependence on the tools that control us. 1984 has long been upon us and we are blinded to it.
So, what are we to do? We shall talk of better things, confessing we are with God and He with us. That we are surrounded by His power and love and goodness and that there is no power that can overcome us. And we praise Him who is great and wonderful and is all.
