Crises Of The Moment

Never give the crisis of the moment the power to keep you from becoming yourself.

John 12:5-8(NIV)
"Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages." {6}He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. {7} "Leave her alone," Jesus replied. "‹It was intended› that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. {8} You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."

Romans 5:3-5(NIV)
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; {4}perseverance, character; and character, hope. {5} And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

James 1:2-8(NIV)
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, {3} because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. {4} Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. {5} If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. {6} But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. {7} That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; {8} he is a double–minded man, unstable in all he does.
