As he stands to bless the food, I hear what we know about God. There is a recount of His mighty works and affirmation of things to come; the sick and shut-in are acknowledged.
Unlike other blessings, I am spared the rhymes.
Yet as the spoutings grow long and dry, my mind wonders; and when I finally have the opportunity to add the "Amen," I can only hope that somewhere in all of that wasspoken, the food has been blessed.
